Combining classic French craftsmanship with XP Metal Detectors styling, the XP Opinel Tradition Knife is a practical folding knife for detectorists, prospectors, campers, and outdoor enthusiasts. The hardwood handle features the XP logo and is available in two finishes: the distinctive Black Edition or the traditional Oak Edition.
Classic Opinel Folding Design
The Opinel Tradition design uses a folding stainless-steel blade and the brand’s proven Virobloc® rotating safety ring. The ring can secure the blade in its open position during use and lock it closed for safer transportation.
Its curved Yatagan-style blade provides a fine point and generous cutting edge for controlled slicing and general utility work.

Using the Virobloc Safety Ring
To open the knife, rotate the ring until the blade channel is unobstructed and carefully unfold the blade. Once fully open, rotate the ring to prevent the blade from folding during use.
Before storage, rotate the ring to release the blade, fold it completely into the handle, and turn the ring again to secure the blade closed.
The locking ring supports safer operation but does not replace careful handling.

Care Instructions
Clean the blade with a damp cloth and dry it immediately after use. Do not immerse the knife in water or place it in a dishwasher, as moisture can cause the wooden handle to swell and interfere with blade movement.
Stainless steel provides good corrosion resistance but is not completely rustproof. Apply a light coating of food-safe or knife-safe oil when appropriate. Keep the handle dry and store the knife in a cool, dry location.
Use nonabrasive cleaning materials, particularly on the Black Edition, to avoid scratching its finish.
