RDH Gold Buster Mini 6″ × 20″ Recirculating Highbanker Prospector Kit

Process gold-bearing material at home, in the desert or beside your favorite stream with the RDH Gold Buster Mini Recirculating Highbanker Prospector Kit. This versatile system includes an 18-gallon reservoir tub, tub stand and adjustable legs, allowing it to operate as either a closed-loop recirculating highbanker or a freestanding field unit.

The included 12-volt 750 GPH pump and four-foot hose supply water to the hopper, while ribbed matting, miner’s carpet and an aluminum riffle cage recover fine gold and heavier placer material.

Two Ways to Operate

Recirculating Operation

Install the highbanker on the included tub stand and use the 18-gallon tub as a water reservoir. The pump returns water to the hopper while the highbanker discharge drains back into the tub for reuse.

This configuration is ideal for garages, workshops, desert claims and other locations where continuous natural water is unavailable.

Freestanding Field Operation

Install the included adjustable legs to support the highbanker independently of the tub. This configuration allows the unit to be positioned near a suitable stream or other water source.

Recirculating Setup

Place the 18-gallon tub on a firm, level surface and install the tub stand. Position the highbanker so its discharge returns water directly to the reservoir.

Secure the pump to its bracket, connect the four-foot hose and fill the reservoir with enough clean water to keep the pump submerged throughout operation.

Connect the pump to a properly charged 12-volt battery or compatible power pack. Confirm that water flows evenly through the hopper and recovery section before adding material.

Freestanding Setup

Install the adjustable legs and place the unit on firm ground. Adjust the legs until the sluice is level from side to side and has an appropriate downhill angle.

Confirm that the highbanker is stable before starting the pump or feeding material. The discharge must be directed to an appropriate location that complies with applicable rules.

Operating Tips

Feed material gradually and evenly into the hopper. Allow the water to wash smaller particles into the recovery section while oversized gravel exits through the gravel catch.

Avoid feeding material faster than the hopper can wash and classify it. Clay should be completely broken down before it reaches the recovery section.

During recirculating operation, periodically check the reservoir for excessive sediment. Replace or clarify the water when suspended clay begins interfering with material separation.

Never allow the pump to operate dry, and regularly inspect the intake for gravel, leaves and other obstructions.

Cleanup

Stop adding material and allow the recovery section to clear. Disconnect the pump from the battery before handling the system.

Carefully remove the riffle cage, miner’s carpet and ribbed matting. Rinse every recovery component into a clean bucket, tub or gold pan. Reinstall the recovery layers in their original order before the next run.

The sluice and hopper make 40" of classifying area. The box and hopper are 6"W x 20"L x 3 inch high sides. This Highbanker has a 12volt 750-gph pump for plenty of water volume. The sluice and hopper is a strong .080 gauge 5052 aircraft aluminum. The riffle cage is also aluminum. Prospector recirculating sluice is hand crafted here in the USA.
