This thing is a heavily built beast and cuts through pencil diameter roots very well. Would've given 5 stars imo but rubber handle as received came loose to quickly for my expectations (based on price.} Handle to metal adhesion quickly solved with a coating of "Show Goo" on the handle and slowly back-and-forth/twisting the rubber handle into place and al.lowing to dry
