Motley Grass Knife Metal-Detecting Hand Digger

Cut clean plugs and recover targets efficiently with the lightweight Motley Grass Knife. Designed specifically for metal detectorists, this European-made hand digger combines a heat-treated tempered-steel blade with aggressive cutting teeth on both sides.

Because both blade edges are serrated, the tool works equally well for right- and left-handed users. The distinctive hexagonal cutouts reduce unnecessary weight, while the easy-grip handle and protective handguard provide comfortable control in grass, soil, and root-filled ground.

Important: A sheath is not included with this grass knife.

Dual-Serrated Digging Blade

Precision-sharpened teeth run along both sides of the blade, helping the digger cut through turf and small roots from either direction. This dual-sided design makes it suitable for left- and right-handed detectorists while supporting cleaner, more controlled target recovery.

The cold-pressed blade reinforcement increases rigidity and helps the 2.5 mm steel blade resist bending during normal digging.

Responsible Target Recovery

Use the knife to cut a controlled plug or flap rather than removing excessive soil. Place loose dirt on a recovery cloth when possible, retrieve the target carefully, and return all soil to the hole. Replace the plug firmly and leave the location as close as possible to its original condition.

Always obtain permission before detecting and follow local rules governing digging and target recovery.

Care Instructions

Remove soil and debris after every use. Clean the blade with a damp cloth, dry it thoroughly, and apply a light coating of suitable protective oil when needed.

Although the blade has a powder-coated finish, cutting edges and areas where the coating becomes worn may rust if left wet. Store the grass knife in a dry location and periodically inspect it for corrosion, cracks, bending, loose components, or damaged cutting teeth.
