Designed for the Minelab GPZ 7000

The GPZ 7000 uses Minelab’s Zero Voltage Transmission technology and requires a different ground-balancing technique than traditional pulse-induction detectors. Passing the search coil over the ferrite while holding the Quick-Trak trigger helps provide the detector with useful calibration data.

A properly ground-balanced detector can operate more smoothly in mineralized or changing soil conditions, allowing the operator to better distinguish potential gold targets from ground noise.

Basic Ground-Balancing Procedure

1. Find an open area free from metal targets.

2. Place the ferrite ring on the ground.

3. Turn on the GPZ 7000 and complete the Noise Cancel procedure.

4. Press and hold the Quick-Trak trigger.

5. Sweep the coil over the ferrite and surrounding ground in a wide figure-eight pattern.

6. Pass over the ferrite early and repeatedly during the procedure.

7. Continue until the detector remains quiet and stable when sweeping over the ferrite.

8. Release the Quick-Trak trigger and begin detecting.
