Build a customized gold-recovery system around the Prospectors Dream Mat configuration that best matches your material. This 10-inch-wide blank power sluice includes a 48-inch sluice box, powered header box, adjustable stand, 1,100 GPH pump, six feet of hose, and an interchangeable stream flare.

Unlike a conventional sluice supplied with permanently selected carpet and riffles, this unit has a blank recovery bed and a built-in mat clamp near the header box. Add your preferred compatible 10-inch Prospectors Dream Mat or another properly fitted recovery system.

Any Dream Mat shown in the product images demonstrates how the built-in mat clamp is used. The mat must be purchased separately.

Choose the Recovery Mat for Your Gold

Gold size and material conditions vary considerably between prospecting locations. A blank sluice lets you select the recovery mat best suited to your operation rather than accepting a factory-selected riffle and carpet arrangement.

Depending on the compatible mat chosen, this setup may be configured for:

Powered or Stream-Sluice Operation

Install the included header box and 1,100 GPH pump for powered operation. The six-foot hose connects the pump to the header box and supplies the water needed to move material through the recovery area.

For locations with sufficient natural stream flow, remove the header box and install the included flare. The flare expands from approximately 10 inches to 16 inches to gather and direct stream water into the sluice.

Included 1,100 GPH Pump

The included 12-volt pump provides the water supply for powered operation. The system can draw water from a stream or from a suitable recovery tub when configured for recirculation.

A 12-volt power source is required and is not included.

Recirculating Setup

To create a recirculating power-sluice system, add a sufficiently large water tub beneath the discharge end. A separate catch bucket or settling system is recommended to keep rocks and sediment away from the pump intake.

Frequently inspect the water and pump during operation. Heavy sediment can reduce water flow, clog the pump, and change the way the selected recovery mat operates.

Setup and Operating Tips

1. Install your selected mat according to its manufacturer’s instructions.

2. Secure the mat beneath the built-in clamp.

3. Install the stand with the discharge end lower than the header end.

4. Attach the powered header box or stream flare.

5. Connect the pump and hose for powered operation.

6. Start the water and confirm even flow across the complete mat width.

7. Feed classified material gradually.

8. Test the tailings and adjust the slope, water flow, classification, and feed rate as necessary.

Do not assume that one slope or feed rate will work with every mat. Follow the selected mat manufacturer’s recommendations and make adjustments based on the material being processed.

Prospecting Power Sluice Setup Kit W/ 1100 pump.

This prospecting set up is made to fit with 3rd-party mats like the Prospectors Dream Mat Vortex Mats with a built in clamp to hold down the mat near the header box.

The kit includes a 48"L x 10"W sluice , attached leg brackets with 14" stand legs, a 12 volt 1100-gph pump , 6ft of 1 1/8" hose and a flare that can be used with a flare for in-stream use.  Power sluice header box setup and the 1100-gph 12-volt pump all adds up to a good Hi-volume power sluice. It can also be used with a recovery tub to complete a power sluice recirculating system. This kit is made to be used as a stream sluice or a high banker.
