The Cobra Crusher is a compact, portable rock crusher designed for sampling gold-bearing ore, quartz and black-sand concentrates. Instead of carrying heavy rock samples home, prospectors can crush a representative sample, pan the pulverized material and check for visible or recoverable gold while still in the field.
The all-steel crushing chamber uses replaceable chain hammers powered by a compatible angle grinder. Its straight feed tube simplifies loading material and pouring the crushed sample from the chamber.
Angle grinder is not included.
Portable design weighs approximately 10 pounds
All-steel crushing-chamber construction
Chain-hammer crushing system
Straight feed tube for easier loading and unloading
Reduces small rock samples to fine material for testing
Useful for checking gold-bearing quartz and ore
Can process black-sand concentrates
Operates with a compatible corded or cordless angle grinder
Compact enough for field sampling and remote exploration
Sampling potentially gold-bearing ore
Crushing quartz and mineralized rock
Preparing material for test panning
Checking samples for free-milling gold
Processing small quantities of black sand
Prospecting, exploration and geological sampling
Reducing the amount of untested rock carried from the field
Break the sample into pieces appropriate for the crusher’s feed tube.
Securely attach a compatible angle grinder according to the crusher instructions.
Load a small amount of material into the crushing chamber.
Operate the grinder to pulverize the sample with the internal chain hammers.
Disconnect the power source and wait for all moving parts to stop.
Empty the crushed material into a gold pan or classifier for testing.
The Cobra Crusher is intended for sampling and small-batch testing, not continuous commercial ore production.
Angle grinder sold separately
Recommended minimum corded power: 7 amps at 110 volts
For cordless operation: professional-quality 18-volt or higher grinder recommended
Confirm that the grinder is mechanically compatible with the Cobra Crusher before operation. Follow the instructions supplied with both the crusher and grinder.

Crushing rock can produce sharp fragments, flying debris, extreme noise and respirable silica dust. Operate the crusher outdoors or with appropriate dust-control equipment. Wear approved eye protection, hearing protection, gloves and a properly fitted respirator suitable for mineral dust.
Never place hands, tools or loose clothing near the feed tube or moving components. Keep the crushing chamber fully assembled and secured during operation. Disconnect the grinder from its battery or electrical supply before loading, unloading, inspecting, cleaning or servicing the crusher.
Inspect the chains, bearings, fasteners and attachment points before every use. Hard or abrasive ore will wear internal components, which must be replaced when damaged or excessively worn.
Cobra Crusher is great for sampling gold bearing rocks in the field! Weighs only about 10 pounds. Grinding chamber: 7.5 inches x 3.5" wide x 9" tall including feed tube. Straight feed tube makes it easier to feed rocks into it and much easier to pour out the pulverized material. All steel construction with chain hammers. The Cobra Crusher works by attaching to a standard Angle Grinders (NOT included). Cobra portable rock crusher will quickly grind your samples down to powder!I used this to grind 20lbs of quartz/sulfide ore and had a good turnout; like a gram. Good ore, yay me. The chains inside were totally destroyed after this, one fell out completely. To remove the crusher and replace the chains requires tools to pull out a bearing; fairly specialized equipment. Stuff I don’t own and have no desire to own. This item is designed for single use unless you have a fairly extensive tool supply and some skills. I repeat this is a single use $400 purchase. I hope you’re ore is worth that much. Mine wasn’t and this is practically worthless now.
Edit: it’s designed for sampling. You get 20 lbs of samples and then it’s useless.
It does the job
The hand made rock crosher/dolly well built, crushed my first rocks today. Again we'll built. I did utilize my sds plus with post attachment with the rock crusher...work smarter not harder. Very happy with purchase. 5-stars.
The bearing was and still is froze, you can barely turn it by hand, let alone with a grinder
