18" Prospector's Pick with Wood Handle and Magnet
Built for serious prospectors, rockhounds, and treasure hunters, the 18" Prospector's Pick with Wood Handle and Magnet is an essential tool for locating and recovering gold-bearing material in the field. Designed for durability and versatility, this compact prospecting pick features a hardened steel head, comfortable wooden handle, and an integrated magnet for quickly identifying magnetic minerals and removing unwanted ferrous material from your concentrates.
Ideal for breaking apart compacted soil, scraping bedrock cracks, clearing brush, and exposing gold-bearing gravels, this pick is perfectly sized for carrying into remote prospecting locations without sacrificing digging power. The integrated magnet is especially useful when working black sands and magnetite-rich material, helping prospectors quickly separate magnetic minerals during exploration and sampling.
A quality prospecting pick is one of the most important tools in any prospector's kit. The pointed end allows you to break apart compacted gravels and rocky soil, while the chisel end is perfect for scraping bedrock, opening crevices, and exposing potential gold traps. The integrated magnet adds another level of utility by helping identify and remove magnetic materials commonly found in gold-bearing environments.
Whether you're sampling a new claim, cleaning bedrock cracks, following a gold-bearing vein, or recovering targets in rocky terrain, the 18" Prospector's Pick with Wood Handle and Magnet provides the durability, functionality, and convenience needed to make the most of every prospecting adventure.

good product
I have used the pick a couple times now.
At first I was thinking I wanted the longer handle version, but after hiking around with the pick in a belt holder, I am glad I got this size.
As I am 5'5"tall . And it's easy to get around with this size pick. Magnet is handy. And digs dirt well.
I really like the wider blade is good for moving more dirt in cases where I’m in soft soil. The handle could be a lot better too if it were fitted with a rubber grip at the end or was lathed to have a formed grip. This is significant because at the end of the day my hands are fatigued and sore because of the extra effort used to grip the pick. At the end of a long day it really makes a huge difference. I am use to having the magnet on the blade which I prefer. I’ve used it on four trips now. Overall, it seems pretty good in my opinion.
