Upgrade your Garrett AT-Series detector with a complete carbon-fiber S-shaft from Steve’s Detector Rods. This premium shaft system replaces the factory upper shaft and lower rod with rigid, lightweight 3K carbon fiber for a solid feel and improved ergonomics.

The bottom portion of the upper shaft is approximately 1.5 inches longer than the factory Garrett shaft, allowing additional distance between the handle and arm cuff. Four cuff-adjustment positions help the user fine-tune the setup for a more comfortable fit.

The detector’s control housing, arm cuff, coil, coil cable, coil-mounting hardware, and other Garrett components are not included and must be transferred from the original detector.

Please Note: This is the standard shaft configuration and does not include the threaded attachment required for Steve’s optional counterweight system. Select a specifically designated counterweight-ready model if counterweight compatibility is needed.

Steve's "standard" complete S-shaft system for the Garrett AT-series (AT Pro, AT Gold, AT MAX) features an all-carbon-fiber upper S-shaft, which includes 4 cuff-adjustment holes in the "bottom" tube of the upper shaft, and a plastic end cap. In addition, this "bottom tube" of the upper shaft is roughly 1 1/2" longer than the stock Garrett shaft. This extra length allows more distance to be achieved between the handle and the arm cuff, which results in improved ergonomics. The upper shaft is available in lengths of either 35" or 42", with a lower rod of 26" or 20", respectively (both offering maximum shaft extension length of roughly 58").

The top tube of the upper shaft features one of our heavy duty, adjustable, removable clamp-type cam locks, which enables rock-solid attachment of the matching lower rod.
