The stated one-ton rating represents ideal conditions in which the magnet makes complete, direct contact with a thick, clean, flat steel surface and is pulled perpendicular to that surface. It does not mean every object weighing one ton can be recovered.

Actual retrieval strength will vary significantly according to the object’s material, thickness, size, shape, orientation, surface condition, and contact area. Rust, paint, mud, debris, water resistance, current, and angled pulling will reduce effective holding force.

Before Your First Use

Apply the included threadlocker to the eyelet threads according to its instructions. Tighten the eyelet completely and allow the threadlocker to cure fully before using the magnet.

Inspect the magnet, eyelet, rope, knot, carabiners, and other connections before every use. Never use equipment that shows signs of cracking, corrosion, fraying, deformation, or other damage.

Important Safety Information

The Megalodon produces extreme magnetic force and can cause severe crushing, pinching, impact, or entanglement injuries. It should only be handled by experienced adults or users ages 14 and older under qualified adult supervision.

• Do not use around power lines, electrical cables, gas lines, or other utilities

• Neodymium magnets are brittle and may crack or shatter following an impact

• Discontinue use and carefully dispose of the magnet if it cracks or breaks

• Do not handle recovered firearms, ammunition, explosives, safes, or suspicious objects; contact local authorities

• Follow all local access, magnet-fishing, salvage, and recovered-property laws

Large or heavily buried objects may exceed the safe capabilities of hand-recovery equipment even when the magnet remains attached. Use professional lifting and recovery equipment when necessary.

Product Care

After each use, remove mud and debris and wash away salt or contaminants with warm, soapy water. Thoroughly dry the magnet, eyelet, carabiners, rope, gloves, and carrying case.

Apply a light coating of rust-preventative lubricant to exposed metal surfaces. Store the magnet secured inside its case in a cool, dry location away from children, electronics, medical devices, tools, and other magnetic objects.
