Although that is the original design, it can also be used by the hobbyist to crush rocks to a size suitable for tumbling and polishing. It can also be used to crush CPU chips to recycle the gold. In addition to that, it works great to crush glass to a powder for smelting operations, easily and safely, as well, your black sand concentrates for further extraction of fine gold. Other uses can be used to make frit glass for the artisan, crushing mineral rocks for gardening, charcoal for gardening, etc. I simple rule of thumb is that if it can shatter with the smack of a hammer, this will crush that material. This is not for "production" work.
