Product Information

Prospector’s Dream 8″ × 47″ Gold Sluice with Three-Stage Combo Dream Mat

Capture gold across a broad range of sizes with the Prospector’s Dream 8″ × 47″ Sluice and Combo Dream Mat. This complete stream sluice combines durable 16-gauge aluminum construction with an approximately 8″ × 36″ mat containing three specialized recovery profiles: Micro, Cape-D and Mini Dream Mat.

The progressive three-stage system is designed to recover fine and flour gold, handle heavy black sands and retain flakes, pickers and chunkier placer gold—all while producing fewer concentrates than a conventional carpet-and-riffle sluice.

Three-Stage Combo Dream Mat

Stage 1: Micro Mat

The Micro section begins the recovery process at the top of the sluice. Its closely spaced recovery cells are designed for extremely fine and flour-gold capture while providing a visible indication that gold is present.

Stage 2: Cape-D

The middle Cape-D section is designed for fine-gold recovery in heavy black sand. Its alternating high-and-low profile provides a second recovery environment for separating dense values from lighter material.

Stage 3: Mini Mat

The Mini section completes the recovery sequence. It performs well in faster flow and sandy material while providing additional holding capacity for gold that travels beyond the first two stages.

Basic Stream Setup

Place the upper end of the sluice facing upstream and secure the box using stable rocks or suitable supports. Adjust the slope until water flows evenly across the entire width of the mat.

Feed a small amount of material and observe each recovery section. The cells should remain active and exchange lighter sediment rather than staying completely packed. If the cells clog, increase the water flow, slightly increase the angle or reduce the feed rate. If material races through the sluice too aggressively, reduce the slope or water velocity.

Operating requirements vary with stream flow, clay content, gravel size and black-sand concentration. Classifying oversized material can improve consistency and prevent interruptions.

Fast Cleanup

Stop feeding material and allow lighter sediment to clear from the mat. Carefully lift the sluice from the water while keeping it level.

Loosen the wing-nut pressure clamp, remove the Combo Dream Mat and rinse the concentrates into a bucket, tub or gold pan. The removable mat eliminates the complicated teardown associated with conventional riffle, expanded-metal and carpet systems.
