Product Information

Cast Iron Ingot Loaf Mold – Gold, Silver & Aluminum Bar Casting Mold – Approx. 50 oz Gold / 25 oz Silver

Create your own precious metal bars and ingots with this heavy-duty cast iron ingot loaf mold, designed for pouring molten gold, silver, aluminum, and other compatible casting metals.

Whether you're refining recovered gold, melting scrap silver, processing precious metals, or creating custom bullion bars, this durable casting mold provides a practical solution for forming molten metal into convenient, easy-to-handle ingots.

With an approximate capacity of 50 troy ounces of gold or 25 troy ounces of silver, this mold is a useful addition to gold prospecting, jewelry making, metal refining, and small-scale foundry operations.

Key Features

  • Heavy-Duty Cast Iron Construction: Durable metal mold designed for repeated use in appropriate metal casting applications.

  • Large Ingot Capacity: Holds approximately 50 troy ounces of gold or 25 troy ounces of silver, depending on fill level and metal density.

  • Versatile Metal Casting: Suitable for casting gold, silver, aluminum, and other compatible metals.

  • Traditional Loaf-Style Design: Creates solid metal ingots that are convenient for storage, handling, and further processing.

  • Ideal for Gold Prospectors: Turn recovered placer gold, gold nuggets, and refined gold into solid bars.

  • Great for Silver Casting: Useful for melting scrap silver, jewelry, and other silver materials into ingots.

  • Reusable Mold: Cast iron construction provides a long-lasting alternative to disposable casting molds when properly maintained.

  • Practical Workshop Tool: Useful for precious metal refining, jewelry making, metalworking, and hobby foundry applications.

Product Specifications

  • Product Type: Metal Casting Ingot Loaf Mold

  • Material: Cast Iron

  • Mold Style: Open-Top Loaf / Ingot Mold

  • Approximate Gold Capacity: 50 Troy Ounces

  • Approximate Silver Capacity: 25 Troy Ounces

  • Compatible Metals: Gold, Silver, Aluminum, and Other Suitable Casting Metals

  • Application: Precious Metal Casting, Bullion Bars, Metal Refining, and Foundry Work

  • Quantity: 1 Ingot Mold

Capacity Note: Metal capacity is approximate and varies based on metal density, alloy composition, and fill level. Gold and silver capacities are expressed in troy ounces. Aluminum ingot weight will be significantly lower due to its lower density.

Ideal for Gold Prospecting & Precious Metal Refining

For gold prospectors who recover placer gold, nuggets, or fine gold, melting and casting recovered metal into ingots can make larger quantities easier to store, transport, and handle.

This cast iron loaf mold is also useful for:

  • Casting gold and silver bullion-style bars

  • Melting and consolidating scrap precious metals

  • Creating silver ingots for jewelry making

  • Casting aluminum bars for metalworking projects

  • Small-scale metal refining operations

  • Preparing metal for additional fabrication or processing

How to Use a Cast Iron Ingot Mold

  1. Inspect the Mold: Make sure the mold is clean, completely dry, and free of cracks or damage.

  2. Prepare the Casting Area: Work in a properly equipped, well-ventilated metal casting area using appropriate protective equipment.

  3. Preheat the Mold: Follow established metal casting procedures for safely preheating cast iron molds and eliminating moisture.

  4. Prepare the Molten Metal: Melt the appropriate metal using equipment rated for the material and required temperature.

  5. Pour Carefully: Use suitable foundry tools and procedures to transfer molten metal into the prepared mold.

  6. Allow to Cool: Let the casting solidify and cool sufficiently before attempting removal.

  7. Remove the Ingot: Use appropriate tools and protective equipment to remove the finished bar.

Important Safety Information

WARNING: Molten metal casting involves extremely high temperatures and can cause severe burns, fires, and serious injury.

  • Never pour molten metal into a wet, damp, or cold mold that has not been properly prepared.

  • Moisture contacting molten metal can cause violent steam expansion and dangerous metal splashing.

  • Always use appropriate heat-resistant gloves, face protection, protective

Cast Iron ingot mold with the slight wall taper for better metal removal. This Mold is great for making Loaf type bars. The weight of each bar depends on what metal your working with and how full you fill the cavity. These Steel Molds are not smooth inside the cavity like our Graphite molds are, please see 6 photos below. Overall length is 7 3/4" and inside size is 1 3/8" deep & at the top its 1 5/16" X 3 5/16"
