Setup and Operation

Position the sluice securely in a suitable section of moving water with the flare facing upstream. Adjust the sluice angle and water flow until lighter material clears the riffles while heavier concentrates remain trapped in the recovery carpet.

Classify oversized rocks and break apart clay before feeding material into the sluice. Add material gradually and evenly to avoid overloading the riffle system.

Cleanup

Carefully remove or release the riffle assembly according to its fasteners. Remove the recovery carpet and rinse the captured concentrates into a bucket, tub or gold pan. Process the remaining concentrates using your preferred finishing method.
