The 1849 Gold Pan is a modern tribute to the spirit of the California Gold Rush, built for prospectors who appreciate dependable gear and classic American craftsmanship. Proudly Made in the USA and available in your choice of black or green, this high-quality gold pan is designed to help beginners and experienced prospectors recover fine gold efficiently in creeks, rivers, and placer deposits across the country.

At High Plains Prospectors, we know a good gold pan is one of the most important tools a prospector can own. Whether you’re searching for your first flakes of gold or working concentrates after a productive day on the creek, the 1849 Gold Pan offers the durability, control, and performance needed for reliable gold recovery in real field conditions.

Its lightweight yet rugged design makes it easy to pack into remote prospecting locations while the pan’s riffle system helps trap and retain fine gold during the washing process. Perfect for family outings, weekend adventures, camping trips, and serious prospecting expeditions, this pan is built to provide years of dependable use.

From the rivers of California to the streams of Colorado and beyond, the 1849 Gold Pan captures the excitement and tradition of America’s gold prospecting heritage. Grab one today and start chasing your own piece of treasure hunting history.

This is the original 1849 Gold Pan.  11 inch plastic gold pan with deep rifles, a big bottom and a deep drop from the sloped sides to the bottom. This pan is great as a back pack gold pan or to finish gold. The deeper riffles work well for sampling in creek, but not too deep so you can still use it for a finish pan. The other side of the pan has a special texture to aide in retaining fine gold during a clean up. Dropped bottom helps retain heavy materials. You will love this gold pan.  Made in the U.S.A!
