The 16" Type Y Slim Crevice Tool is designed for reaching into narrow bedrock cracks, seams, and other confined areas where placer gold commonly becomes trapped. Its long, slender steel body and curved Type Y profile help prospectors loosen, scrape, and pull compacted material from crevices that are difficult to clean with conventional hand tools.

Made in the USA from solid American steel, this lightweight but rugged crevicing tool is well suited for gold prospecting, sniping, sluicing, highbanking, dredging, and general bedrock cleanup. The comfort-grip handle provides a secure hold while working around wet, muddy, or irregular rock surfaces.

Curved Type Y Profile

The curved Type Y working profile provides useful leverage and access when following irregular bedrock cracks or reaching beneath small ledges. Its slim 1/8" thickness fits into narrow openings, while the 16" overall length gives the user additional reach.

The tool can be used to loosen packed clay, sand, gravel, and concentrate-bearing material before removing it with a crevice scoop, brush, suction bottle, or vacuum system.
