Product Information

Prospector’s Dream 12″ × 35″ Big Foot Sluice with Vortex Dream Mat

Process more material through a wide, compact recovery system with the Prospector’s Dream 12″ × 35″ Big Foot Sluice. This complete stream sluice combines sturdy 16-gauge aluminum construction with a genuine 12″ × approximately 24″ Vortex Dream Mat.

The shorter Big Foot design makes it easier to achieve the proper slope while providing a full 12-inch-wide processing surface. Its open slick plate allows water and material to spread before reaching the patented vortex-cell recovery area.

Vortex Dream Mat Recovery

The included Dream Mat uses molded vortex cells instead of carpet, miner’s moss, expanded metal and conventional riffles.

Water flowing through each cell creates controlled circular movement. Lighter sediment continues downstream while dense material—including gold and black sand—settles into protected recovery zones beneath the main flow.

Gold capture begins at the leading recovery cells, while the remaining mat provides additional retention and holding capacity.

Stream Setup

Place the upper slick-plate end facing upstream. Stabilize the sluice securely with rocks or suitable supports and level it from side to side.

Adjust the slope and water exposure until flow is distributed across the entire 12-inch width. Wider sluices require sufficient water to activate the cells from one side to the other.

Feed a small amount of material and observe the recovery cells. They should continuously exchange lighter sediment rather than remaining packed.

If the cells fill with light material, increase the flow, slightly increase the angle or reduce the feed rate. If material moves through too aggressively, reduce the slope or water velocity.

Feeding Material

Introduce material evenly across the slick plate rather than concentrating every scoop in the center. Allow the water to spread and wash the material before adding more.

Classifying oversized rocks and breaking apart clay can improve performance. Although the Vortex Mat can process appropriately sized unclassified material, the feed rate must remain compatible with the available water flow.

Fast Cleanup

Stop feeding material and allow lighter sediment to clear. Carefully remove the sluice from the stream while keeping it level.

Release the hook-style slick-plate clamp, remove the Vortex Dream Mat and rinse it into a bucket, tub or gold pan. No carpet, riffle cage or expanded metal must be disassembled.

Reinstall the mat flat against the sluice floor and confirm that the clamp is secure before the next run.

12"X35" BIG FOOT SLUICE W/ VORTEX MAT

New BIG FOOT series sluices are shorter to give a more versatile use. Easier to get good slope drop, easier to fit in your pack. With front row gold capture, you can sluice w/ confidence.

THE SIMPLE HOOK SLICK PLATE CLAMP REQUIRES NO SCREWS OR CLAMPS. 16 Ga. ALUIM. CONSTRUCTION IS VERY STURDY.

THIS SLUICE WILL OUTPERFORM A TRADITIONAL WIDER SLUICE IN VOLUME & YOU DO NOT NEED TO CLASSIFY, SHOVEL IT RIGHT IN. REDUCE YOUR CONS, HAVE INSTANT CLEAN OUTS, PROCESS MORE MATERIAL, TAKE HOME MORE GOLD!
