Upgrade a wide sluice, highbanker or custom recovery system with the Prospector’s Dream 12″ × 36″ Mini Dream Mat. Its large recovery surface and patented vortex-cell design make it especially useful for processing sandy material, black sands and fine placer gold.
The Mini profile is designed for higher water and feed rates than lower-energy cleanup profiles. It handles a mixture of sand and appropriately sized gravel while creating active recovery zones that capture fine gold, flakes, pickers and larger placer gold.
Each molded cell uses flowing water to create a miniature vortex. This controlled exchange carries lighter material out of the cell while dense gold and black sand settle into protected areas below the main water flow.
Unlike conventional sluice systems, Dream Mat does not require carpet, miner’s moss, expanded metal or a traditional riffle cage. The single-piece mat can be removed and rinsed directly into a bucket or gold pan.
The Mini profile is a strong choice for locations containing large amounts of sand and black sand. Its active cells continuously exchange lighter material while retaining dense values.
The 12-inch width provides substantial processing capacity, while the approximately 36-inch length creates an extended recovery path for fine and coarse gold.

Measure the inside width and available recovery length of your sluice before ordering. Nominal sluice widths can vary, and molded mat dimensions are approximate.
Place the mat flat against the sluice floor with the recovery cells facing upward. The cells should be oriented according to the manufacturer’s indicated flow direction.
Secure the upper edge with a compatible clamp or compression plate. The mat must remain flat during operation, with no water or material traveling underneath it.
Do not drill through the recovery cells. If trimming is necessary, mark the cut carefully and remove only the minimum material required for a proper fit.
Begin with a moderate sluice angle and enough water to activate the cells across the full 12-inch width. Feed a small amount of material and observe the cell action.
The cells should continuously exchange lighter sand while retaining dense material. If the cells remain completely packed, increase the flow, slightly increase the slope or reduce the feed rate. If material moves through too aggressively, reduce the flow or sluice angle.
Classifying oversized material can improve consistency and prevent rocks from interrupting the flow. Conditions containing clay should be thoroughly broken down before feeding.
Stop feeding material and allow lighter sediment to clear. Release the separately purchased clamp and carefully remove the mat.
Roll or flex the mat over a bucket, tub or gold pan, then rinse each recovery cell thoroughly. Reinstall the mat flat against the sluice floor before beginning another run.
Mat colors may vary according to the current production run.
Actual molded length may vary slightly from the nominal 36-inch measurement.
Minor cosmetic molding variations may occur and do not necessarily affect recovery performance.
Final performance depends on proper water flow, sluice angle, classification and feed rate.
~12"x~36" beach sands mat. This mat is going to be the new standard for fine gold recovery, lighting fast, higher flow & feed rates, better recovery. WOW is what experienced miners are saying!
